Magic 'No Knead' Bread Dough Recipe
This recipe is the base for all yeast dough bread recipes.
3 cups water (room temp)
8 Tbl white sugar
6 Tbl oil
1 tsp salt
2 Tbl instant yeast(or 3 envelopes)I use Fleischman's or Fermipan
2 large eggs
7-8 cups white flour (whole wheat does not rise as well)
1. In a larger bowl stir dry yeast and 4 cups of the flour. Set aside.
2.In a separate bowl mix together eggs, sugar, oil and water.
3.Add this liquid to flour and yeast mixture. Blend well.
4. Add remaining flour and salt.Stir.
5.Cover and let rise for 15 minutes.
6. Punch down. DO NOT KNEAD!
7.Repeat steps 5 and 6 twice.
8. Shape into whatever you are creating. Place in appropriate pans. Cover and let rise for one hour.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
**This recipe makes 2 loaves of bread.**
For focaccia bread I used Focaccia Bread Spice from Epicure and I mixed it into the dry ingredients in step one as well as brushed olive oil and then sprinkled in on the round loaves after they were baked. The recipe is on the jar. It is so worth getting some!
***If you want to make sweet rolls like cinnamon buns, divide dough into to 2 balls, roll out into rectangle and place your butter, raisins, cinnamon etc. on dough. Roll up and seal ends. Cut and place in greased round baking pans. Yummers!!!
