I've been M.I.A.!

Hello my friends. I'm sorry that I've neglected my blog for almost an entire month! I had a terrible flare up of Trigeminal Neuralgia again and this one was a doozer but I'm finally on the mend."Trigeminal neuralgia (TN), or tic douloureux, is one of the most painful afflictions known. It is characterized by episodes of excruciating stabbing or electrical shock-like pains which are confined to one side of the face. The brief episodes of pain last up to two minutes and may occur spontaneously or be triggered by light stimulation, such as washing, shaving, combing, showering, talking, brushing teeth, chewing, eating and drinking. During periods of exacerbation, these pain attacks may occur many times per day and can be difficult to control with medical treatments." I'm right now uploading another video and I promise to take better care of my blog!

She- Art Week One

I've been feeling really scattered and anxious lately and finding I needed an outlet to express my inner struggles. I started searching on line for some art journaling 'stuff' and I came across Christy Tomlinson's She-Art Workshop and I just love it. It feels so good to get messy!! This is my first girl of what for sure won't be my last!

Zentangle Meditation - 'Seek Comfort'

I used to follow the practice of my dear friend Judy, who used to create a zentangle on a card front every morning and then give them as greeting cards. Well I found this set of blank cards, with a beautifully embossed border,in my stash that I'd picked up from the thrift store.

Today I found myself unsettled and searching for some inner comfort so I dusted them and myself off, pulled out my ever faithful Sharpee and voila! the beginnings of a card set of my own.

It's all about S.P.A.C.E.!

I want to tell you about the amazing organizing method called S-P-A-C-E which was developed by Julie Morgenstern. I have personally used this system whenever I'm overwhelmed with clutter. The S.P.A.C.E.system gives you an easy reminder for how to organize any space with these 5 easy to remember steps:
Sort Completely empty the closet or area you are wanting to organize. Go ahead and do it! Don't be scared!!This is the second hardest step.
PurgeNow this step is the hardest step. This step is where you purge, purge, purge! If you haven't used something in a year, recycle or donate to the Goodwill. Remember that you are NOT responsible for anyone else's memories.
Assess Look around and assess what you want to put where. Assess your space and what kinds of containers you will need for everything!
Conmpartmentalize Purchase ALL of the necessary containers etc, you will need. Splurge on that extra Rubbermaid container. You won't regret it!
EvaluateNow that all is in its place, promise yourself that you will re-evaluate your area once a week. You may need more/less containers etc.
And that's it! I've use this method several times and it works like a charm!! I promise you!

Back to Basics!

As you can read below I'm attempting to live life in a more frugal way, making every attempt to get back to even a more simpler way of living. Ideally I would love to own my own farm with a cow for milking and a few chickens for eggs, but until then I will keep on keeping on the best way I know how. I prepared my no knead bread that I used to make on a daily basis and I'm in the process of knitting a bath mat out of recycled T-shirts. Living a more simple life can be done ,just keep it simple, one step at a time.
Click here for my easy peasy recipe for No Knead Bread and enjoy!
